About the Role We are seeking an experienced Technical Product Owner to support our next phase of growth as we evolve our clients payments technology and customer experience. In this role, you will own and manage the product backlog, prioritise delivery based on business and customer needs, and act as the key point of contact for a multidisciplinary Scrum team. You will also become a subject matter expert for a next-generation Payments Orchestration Platform.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with Product Management to deliver new payment products and services to customers.
Translate product roadmap into clear product requirements, epics, and user stories with defined acceptance criteria.
Liaise closely with Sales and internal stakeholders to refine and prioritise requirements.
Provide regular status updates against KPIs to stakeholders and leadership.
Manage technical debt and operational backlogs alongside new product features.
Lead sprint planning and review progress at each sprint close.
Facilitate collaboration across Commercial, Finance, Engineering, UX and other business units.
Continually refine backlog priorities and maintain visibility on roadmap milestones, risks, and opportunities.
Contribute to ongoing process improvement and new ways of working.
Required Experience & Competencies
3+ years' experience as a Product Owner, ideally in Fintech.
Strong domain knowledge in multi-channel payment processing (eCommerce, PoS, MOTO) and payments acquiring.
Experience working within Agile Scrum delivery teams.
Third-level qualification in an IT or related technical discipline.
Skilled at translating complex features into actionable user story formats.
Confident reporting to senior leadership on delivery milestones and project status.
Strong communicator with excellent influencing and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to combine market, business, and technical insights to identify opportunities.
Capable of managing competing priorities in a fast-moving environment with tight deadlines.
Highly organised with strong ownership, autonomy, and accuracy.
