IT Support Engineer
Location: Waterford (onsite - 4 days per week)
Contract: 3 months with possibility of extension
Start Date: Immediate availability preferred.


Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced IT Contractor to provide hands-on support across IT projects, technology rollouts, and day-to-day operational needs. This is a great opportunity to work on a broad mix of business applications, cloud migration, and cyber security initiatives, contributing directly to a wider digital transformation strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide hands-on support for IT project implementations and technology rollouts.
  • Work independently to achieve agreed project targets and goals.
  • Develop and document training materials as required.
  • Assist with cyber security initiatives to ensure compliance with the NIS2 directive.
  • Actively collaborate with the IT Manager, MSP, and wider IT team.
Project & System Support
  • Configure and set up new systems to support digitisation of business operations.
  • Support line-of-business applications:
    • Container/terminal operating systems
    • Marine/shipping management systems
    • Cargo management systems
  • Assist with cloud migration projects (Datto → SharePoint).
  • Support IT MSP with MS Intune and Modern Workplace setup.
Cyber Security
  • Deliver cyber awareness training under the guidance of the IT Manager.
  • Support ongoing cyber security compliance and activities.
General IT Support
  • Provide troubleshooting and support for IT systems and equipment, including:
    • MS365 user setup
    • Windows 11 upgrades/replacements
    • Network/data link troubleshooting
    • Printer and hardware support
  • Liaise with MSP and escalate issues as required.
Candidate Profile
  • 5+ years' experience in IT support, systems administration, or IT project delivery.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies (MS365, Intune, SharePoint, Windows 11).
  • Experience supporting business applications and liaising with MSPs.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting ability across hardware, software, and networks.
  • Awareness of cyber security principles; prior NIS2 exposure desirable but not essential.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to manage tasks independently.
